Why Life Isn’t Happening to You; It’s Happening FOR You

You know that feeling when life seems to be ganging up on you? Like the Universe is conspiring to throw every possible obstacle in your path just to see how much you can take? It’s easy to feel like everything is falling apart when circumstances aren’t ideal. But what if I told you that the Universe isn’t punishing you; it’s actually helping you grow?
I’ve had those moments too—like when I finally decided to publish The 12 Guiding Stars System after four years of second-guessing and soul-searching. I had to let go of my old patterns, including a career that was slowly draining me, to make room for something better. And sometimes, life doesn’t ask politely—it pushes us forward, whether we’re ready or not.
According to Polyvagal Theory, our nervous system is designed to keep us safe. The unfamiliar often feels threatening, even when our souls are calling for change. So when we block our own progress, the Universe often steps in to clear the path for us.
These transitions can feel chaotic. You might feel fear, uncertainty, or grief as the old ways fall away. But remember: this turbulence is the clearing of energetic space, making way for new growth. It’s the Universe saying, “You’re ready, even if you don’t believe it yet.”
When you make this shift in perspective—from feeling like a victim to embracing your power as a creator—everything changes. Challenges become invitations. Obstacles become teachers. And you become the artist of your life, painting a new future with each choice.
If you’re having trouble seeing your life this way, here’s how to start:
Three Practical Steps to Shift Your Perspective
1. Neutralize Your Emotions
Before you can see the lesson, you must calm the storm inside. Take some deep breaths, ground yourself in the present, and remind yourself that your feelings are temporary—they’re not who you are.
2. Analyze the Pattern
Get curious. Is this something you’ve faced before? What patterns or beliefs are behind this challenge? Awareness breaks the cycle.
3. Recode Your Subconscious Mind
Affirm to yourself that you’re safe to change. Try mantras like, “It is safe for me to step into something new,” or “I trust that life is guiding me to my next level.”
The Power of Choosing Your Role
The day I left my corporate job, I came home to find the proof copy of my book waiting on my doorstep. It was the Universe’s way of saying, “It’s time.”
You have that same invitation in your life, right now. Will you choose to see yourself as someone life happens to or someone life happens for? One will keep you stuck; the other will set you free.
Remember, you are not here to play small. You are here to step fully into your power and become the co-creator of your life. Let your challenges refine you, not define you.
If you’re ready to explore this shift more deeply, I'm here to support you. You don’t have to navigate this alone. Set up a free soul-aligned discovery call, and let's see if we're a good fit to work together.
Life isn’t happening to you. It’s happening for you. And that means you get to decide what happens next.
